I will never got to House Of Blues Orlando ever again.
Not only did I drive the 80 miles from Tampa for the Wednesday show just for a Social D cancellation, I also got shafted when I wanted to buy the Social D sticker pack!
I asked the merch guy where was the $8.00 Social D sticker pack that was listed on the table? He said the House Of Blues doesn't allow stickers to be sold. Lame!
Even more lame I can't make the show Thursday because of work.

Why are you mad at HOB? They didn't cancel, the band did. Also, nobody is allowed to sell or give away stickers at HOB because people plaster them everywhere inside the club. Sorry, but that's the way it is. I'm pissed because I planned on going Wed. and now I have to go both days and hope I get in but I got to see a FREE show at House of Blues with two GREAT bands so I'm not complaining.... that much

I ain't really made about the cancellation, I'm mad about the timing. I left from Tampa knowing it was doors at 7:00 and show at 8:00. Well, after I got back I checked my e-mail and the cancel notice wasn't sent until 7:36 p.m. and a phone message wasn't left until 8:50 p.m.
There is a really great venue here in the Tampa area called Jannus Landing that Bad Religion is coming too before going to the House Of Blues. Social D played it in '96.

Yeah, I can't argue about the lack of notice. I heard through the grapevine it was cancelled in the afternoon, checked HOB.com and Ticketbastard.com and neither mentioned a cancellation. I thought it might have just been a rumor and called HOB direct. If it hadn't been for that I wouldn't have known for sure and I wouldn't have known Tiger Army and The Explosion were playing anyways. On my way to Orlando (an hour and a half after doors opened) I got a call from Ticketmaster telling me the show was cancelled. What a bunch of assholes.

I'm under the sneaking suspicion that SD cancelled the show last minute because they didn't sell enough tickets to thursday's show so they decided to consolidate both shows....as for Mike's apologies....they seemed half-hearted at best. On top of that...you would think they would play a super long set after all the shit people had to go through....nope only 90 minutes.
so with the outragious traffic on I-4 we drove a total of 8 hours to see 1.5 hrs of sxdx....but it was still worth it i'm glad they stopped in FL this time. Yeah too bad they didn't play jannus, masquerade or the state theatre.
besides all of this, they put on a real tight set. And i really dug the organ with the old and new songs....it worked well. Mike said they'd be back in spring....but i i'm not sure it'll happpen.

I'll be the first to say that the Orlando HOB sucks. Nothing to do with the show being cancelled, it's just too damn Disney for my taste. And Ticketbastard sux too but, again, that's my general opinion but it has nothing to do with this specific situation. Under the circumstances they did the best they could. Shit happens. My take on it is that the show was cancelled pretty late in the day, most likely after I left G'ville for the trip down.
Yeah, I've got a major disappointment with not getting to see SD, especially figuring they won't be around these parts again in the near future, if ever. I still don't like HOB or Ticketbastard but I can't really lay any of this on them.
p.s. to all you cali people... ok, i best not elaborate other than to say .. nevermind.

Talk about being pissed, my wife and I flew from florida to vegas to see SD play a few years ago. We figured it would be a good excuse to get out of town. About an hour before the show hard rock announced it was cancelled cause mike was sick.....talk about a bummer. Got over it after some drinks and still had a good weekend.
